Come be a Part of Historic Spotsylvania Courthouse.
Zion United Methodist Church has been meeting in Spotsylvania for over 155 years. Our church has seen many changes in our community but has always been a place of friendship and kindness even in our darkest days. Zion has always been an active part of the Spotsylvania community and always will. Come be a part of the historic past and our glorious future. Visitors are always welcome. Nursery is available during the traditional service for children under 3 years.
Rev. Barbara M. Jacobs is always available for you to share your concerns and cares.
Zion is pleased to announce the addition of a nursery coordinator to our staff. Our Coordinator will staff the nursery each Sunday morning and at other times. We at Zion were blessed with a generous memorial gift that enabled us to renovate completely our nursery. Everything is new and beautiful! We are also blessed with children to occupy the nursery. Now, we welcome you and your children to join us. Come and be part of Zion--a church with a rich heritage, a community perspective, and a giving spirit.
Fall Book Club
Summer will soon be drawing to a close and autumn will be upon us. Children will be returning to school and book club will re-convene.
We will be reading and discussing the book "Who Stole My Church?" by Gordon MacDonald. This book is available at the LifeWay Christian book store at Central Park, or through Amazon.com, half.com, or alibris at drastically reduced prices and pretty quick service.
We will meet on Sunday evenings at 6pm in the fellowship hall for an hour and a half. Our first meeting will be Sunday, September 12.
Who Stole My Church? has 21 chapters which are easy reads and has points to ponder for each chapter at the back of the book. If we do two chapters per week, we could be done in eleven weeks, which will finish us up right before Thanksgiving.
Please prayerfully consider joining us as we read and discuss this interesting and timely selection.
If you have any questions, give me or George a call. We are both looking forward to our time together with you as we learn "Who Stole My Church!"
