The new school year is about to begin.For students, parents, and educators this means a mad dash to get sports physicals completed, supplies acquired, and clothing secured.Of course, for us pastors, it means "time to make plans for Advent!"It is hard to believe that we are preparing for the final quarter of 2010.Weren't we just digging out from record snowfalls?
Nevertheless, time moves forward and we must also move with it.In this regard, I am scheduling a Visioning Retreat for the Admin Council and any others who are interested in the future of Zion, on Saturday, November 13, from 9am-2pm.More details and pre-session materials will be available by the September Council meeting.
I hope all of us will consider how and where God is calling us to serve the Kingdom here at Zion.The Lay Leadership Committee will be at work soon to prepare a slate of officers to present toCouncil for approval before submitting at our Charge Conference on November 14, at Eastland UMC.Please consider carefully and prayerfully how you respond when you are asked to serve.
